HEALTH INSURANCE
Pulaski County provides full-time employees health insurance benefits with a shared monthly premium payment through United Healthcare.
Health insurance benefits are available for dependent children only at 100% cost to the employee.

Dental and Vision Insurance is an optional benefit offered under the Section 125 Cafeteria Plan as pre-tax or post-tax option. These benefits are 100% paid by employees.
DENTAL AND VISION INSURANCE
Dental and Vision Insurance is an optional benefit offered under the Section 125 Cafeteria Plan as pre-tax or post-tax option. These benefits are through Delta Dental and are 100% paid by employees. Enrollment should be completed at the time of hire or during open enrollment periods. BASIC LIFE AND AD&D
Pulaski County provides all employees with basic Life and AD&D insurance at NO COST. The Life and AD&D insurance benefit is equal to $10,000 for employees, $5,000 for spouse and $2,000 for child(ren). The amount of Life and AD&D insurance will be reduced by the following schedule: reduces to 65% at age 65, 50% at age 70.
RETIREMENT
The County provides employees with a retirement plan through the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS). Employees hired after July 1, 2005, are required to contribute 5.25% (increasing by .25% each year until it reaches 7%) of their salary to this plan.
Effective July 1, 2021, Pulaski County Government’s APERS contribution rate is 15.3% per employee.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The County provides an employee assistance program to County employees and their immediate family members. Confidential assistance and counseling are provided concerning a variety of problems, difficult situations, and troubling issues in both personal and work life at no cost to the employee. Employees may contact Southwest EAP, our employee assistance program provider at the telephone number or website below.

VOLUNTARY BENEFITS
The County offers several voluntary benefits into which employees can enroll. These benefits are 100% paid by employees.
USABLE VOLUNTARY LIFE INSURANCE
In addition to the Basic Life policy, you can purchase additional Voluntary Life coverage for yourself, your spouse and child(ren). You must purchase employee coverage to be able to purchase coverage for your spouse and/or child(ren). Employees between ages 65-69 are only eligible for a guaranteed issue amount of $20,000. Guarantee issue is only available at initial eligibility.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION
The County offers 2 deferred compensation plans (Nationwide and Valic) to all eligible employees. Deferred compensation is a tax-deferred supplemental retirement program that allows public employees to contribute a portion of their salary to a supplemental retirement account. Additional Benefits and Discounts
EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS
Verizon offers an 18% discount to Pulaski County Employees see the flyer for more information on how to register for the employee discount or to validate your employment if you’re already enrolled in the program.
AT&T offers a 17% discount to Pulaski County Employees visit their website to enter your county email to qualify for the discount.
As a member of the Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC), Pulaski County employees have access to various discounts such as theme parks and auto service. For discounts that require a discount code, you must create a member account with AAC (see top right corner of their website). For questions regarding these discounts call the Association of Arkansas Counties at 501-372-7550.

CREDIT UNIONS
Memberships are available to Employees in two credit unions – Telcoe Federal Credit Union and Arkansas Federal Credit Union. The application for membership may be obtained in Human Resources and submitted to the credit union. Once an account is established, access to that account is available at the credit union’s website.
EMPLOYEE TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM
Employees may obtain assistance with tuition for college, training, and vocational training for skills enhancement once the employee has been employed for six months. Click on the link below to download the form. To request tuition assistance, complete the first two pages of the form and submit to Human Resources. The second two pages are an explanation of the program and should be read and maintained by the employee.
AMG EMPLOYEE ALERT SYSTEM
The AMG Alert System sends Pulaski County notifications and alerts by email, text, and telephone. Registration is free and all Pulaski County employees are encouraged to sign-up for this service. To sign-up to receive alerts, or for additional information, call the Pulaski County Information Systems Help Desk at 501-340-8456. The Help Desk is available Monday-Friday, 7 AM-6 PM.
