Pulaski County Promotes Riding the Rock Region Metro Streetcar to Employees

Pulaski County is proud to be a local government partner in providing  FREE Rock Region Metro Streetcar rides throughout 2019.

County Judge Barry Hyde wanted to show how riding the streetcar is easy for our downtown employees. Judge Hyde and Rock Region Metro Executive Director embarked on a short journey around the Rivermarket.

“I’m glad that we’re able to support the streetcar system. Pulaski County, along with the City of Little Rock and North Little Rock, believe that it’s is a worthwhile investment, said Hyde. “It provides a great transportation alternative to visitors and our downtown county employees especially during the hot summer months. They’re able to stay cool and help the environment by opting for the streetcar instead of their vehicles.”

This week, Pulaski County employees of elected officials, County Treasurer Debra Buckner, County Clerk Terri Hollingsworth and County Assessor Janet Troutman Ward are attending in a presentation how to use the Metrotrack App and taking a tour on the streetcar.

“Educating our employees on how to use the streetcar is a great way to promote public transportation,” said Hyde. “Each employee has a friend or family member that visits downtown. They can now, spread the word to others.”
